What Happens to Your Body After Birth
Recovery after birth is individual. Dr. Natalie considers pain, movement, feeding positions, sleep, lifting, return to activity, and the realities of caring for a baby when building your plan.
There is no single postpartum schedule that fits everyone. Sleep, birth recovery, feeding, support, previous injuries, and activity all shape what you need. Dr. Natalie meets you where you are and avoids pushing a predetermined plan.
Appointments may combine hands-on care with simple rehabilitation and movement guidance. The goal is to make the plan realistic enough to use during a busy season of life. You do not need to be fully rested, back to exercise, or feeling like yourself before booking. The first visit creates space to understand what is happening and decide on sensible next steps.
Postpartum recovery is individual. Pregnancy, delivery, sleep, feeding, and the work of caring for a baby can all affect how the body feels and moves.
- Core weakness that makes daily movement feel harder
- Lower back, hip, pelvic, or rib discomfort
- Neck and shoulder tension from feeding and carrying
- C-section scar discomfort that may affect comfortable movement
- Diastasis recti and questions about rebuilding core function
- Pelvic floor symptoms such as leaking, pressure, or pain that may also need pelvic floor physiotherapy
